Standing Boys
These standing figures,c.1720, in famile verte colours, were popular wedding gifts at Chinese marriage ceremonies and meant to encourage happiness and married bliss.

If they are a group of 3, they are representatives of the Taoist deities Fu, Lu and Shou ,who add both Rank and Longevity to there many gifts and offerings.
If only two figures are involved, as is our own case, they are described as the He He boys and hold sacred gifts of pots filled with lotus flower or sometimes with bats flying out of the container.
