A shaped spinet, probably designed for a dining room, by Manchester maker John Kirsham, dated July 17th 1769.

The veneered walnut case is crossbanded and inlaid with boxwood stringing, whilst the top and lid are solid mahogany with external hinges and hook. It stands on a delicate tripod base with slender cabriole legs and has a small drawer fitted into the front of the frame.
The 4 ½ octave keyboard has ivory ‘naturals’ with arcaded fronts and ebony ‘accidentals’.
