A young man sings to Amelia, praising her beauty having spied her as she ‘cross’d the mead’. She replies he would say the same to Belinda if she came through the door, ‘you men can praise each face you meet, and so we find you all deceit’. Alls well at the end, however, and he promises to tie ‘the nuptial knot of love and joy’.
