Bough Pot
A handsome pot of 'D' section intended for the display of crocus or hyacinth bulbs. Chamberlains Worcester, c.1810.
Bough Pot
The front is finely painted with a named grisaille view of York, as seen from the west bank of the river, looking towards Ouse Bridge and Cliffords Tower. There is a considerable degree of artistic licence employed in the composition of this view, however, and the artist has not drawn upon any known engravings as source material.
The salmon-pink panels to the sides are richly gilded and the pot stands on gilded bun feet.
Marked on the underside ‘Chamberlains Worcester’ script mark in gold,c.1800-10.
