Exhibition Preview and Reception: Savage Satire: From the pen of James Gillray

Join us for an evening preview of our first exhibition for 2019 exploring the ‘Savage Satire’ of cartoonist James Gillray. Drawing on an extraordinary collection of Gillray’s works, this exhibition showcases how, 200 years on, this biting political commentator’s ruthless, sometimes gruesome, but always sharp and sophisticated satires have never been more amusing or relevant.

This is your invitation to be part of this celebratory evening, with an exclusive talk by collector Donald Coverdale, and to preview the exhibition before it opens to the public on 15 February.
