Fairfax House is an outstanding Georgian House which can be hired out for small events and intimate dining.
The House is available for hire evenings (including weekends) and Sunday mornings and visitors will be offered the use of the whole house. Guided tours by a Georgian expert can also be provided.
Corporate & Private Dining
Visitors can dine in the splendour of the sumptuous Saloon where royalty and world dignitaries have taken their seats at the table. They will experience the authentic period table settings and local musicians can provide period music if requested.
Fairfax House is fully licensed and uses excellent local caterers to provide appetising banquets to suit all tastes and is also able to cater for those with specific dietary requirements. View a sample menu. It can also provide an authentic Georgian banquet which could include the type of wines which Lord Fairfax and his guests were drinking in the 18th century, a salama gunda (pyramid of chicken slices and vegetables) perhaps, or even a Parmesan Cheese Ice Cream!
The dining facilities can accommodate up to 30 people (minimum of 15 people). Prices are in the region of £95 + VAT per person.
Receptions, Launches and Special Events
Fairfax House can also be hired for evening (including weekends) and Sunday morning events. It offers pre-event drinks and finger buffets in the magnificent Saloon for up to 50 people. The facility fee is £500 and drinks and buffet food can be provided at additional costs. Please allow for VAT on top of these prices. Buffet menu choices and a range of canapes are available on request.
