Residents First
A chance to visit Fairfax House for free in May for local residents
York Residents will have the opportunity to visit free of charge from 12 – 17 May as part of a special residents John Carr week.
Residents will also be able to visit Treasurer's House for free duirng this same period.
Both historical buildings are closed to the public in January for their annual winter cleaning programme and consequently are not able to open their doors as part of the Residents First Weekend. They wanted to give the public the opportunity to see inside these magnificent buildings and have chosen a week in May to allow local people to look around at their leisure.
Programmes of events for Fairfax House and Treasurer’s House are now available and it is hoped that people will also enjoy looking around the buildings in the summer months and visiting again for specific events and exhibitions.
