Three top attractions, Three minutes apart, Three discount offers for everyone!
Three of York’s top attractions have united to give visitors a top triple offer.
York Castle Museum, Clifford’s Tower and Fairfax House have created a three way discount to encourage visitors to visit all three of the attractions which are three minutes apart.
A special leaflet offering the discounts will be distributed across the city in the next few weeks.
Charlotte Dootson, Marketing Manager for York Museums Trust which runs York Castle Museum, said: “With the credit crunch starting to bite we thought it would be a great idea to offer visitors a discount at three of the most interesting historical landmarks in the city. The discounts are perfect for a family day out, with cheap entry to Clifford’s Tower, a discount on food at the Castle and a discount on the wonderful items on sale in the shop at Fairfax House.”
The discounts in the leaflet are:
15% off entry to Clifford’s Tower
10% shop discount at Fairfax House
10% off the all food and drink over £5 at the York Castle Museum’s café.
The leaflets will be available at all three venues as well as being distributed in the area during holiday periods.
Originally built by William the Conqueror, Clifford’s Tower was rebuilt by Henry III in the 13th Century. The fantastic panoramic views from the tower are a reminder of its strategic importance to Royal control in Northern England.
Fairfax House is a stunning 18th Century Georgian townhouse with an outstanding collection of Georgian furniture, silver, ceramics and clocks. It was created in 1762 as a dowry for Anne Fairfax and restored by the York Civic Trust in the 1980s.
York Castle Museum is home to the world famous recreated Victorian street, Kirkgate, as well as a treasure trove of unique, weird and wonderful items from every
day life. The museum is also where infamous highwayman Dick Turpin spent his last nights in its former use as a prison. Don’t miss the special exhibition – The Sixties.
