Andy McConnell is one of Britain’s leading authorities on glassware of all types, and his books have covered the subject from 1650 to the present. He is the first glass specialist recruited to BBC TV’s Antiques Roadshow, for which he has now recorded five series. He lectures widely on glass and has written for journals as diverse as The Times, Country Life, BBC Homes & Antiques and Glass Circle News.
This talk, which will be held at The Friends' Meeting House in Castlegate, opens the Museum’s first exhibition for 2010, The Flowing Bowl, which will run from 13th February to 30th May.
Following the talk there will be the chance to have a Special Preview of the new exhibition installation and meet with Andy over a glass of wine and nibbles.
