Flog It at Fairfax To Be Broadcast
BBC 2's well know antiques programme will feature Fairfax House.
Fairfax House will be featured on the BBC’s popular antiques programme ‘Flog It’ on Friday 9th February at 3.45pm on BBC 2.
The item about Fairfax House will be included in the Harrogate 32 programme.
Presenter Paul Martin and his team of experts came across to York especially to look at the Floral Marquetry cabinet with its 19 secret drawers and two mid-eighteenth century Chippendale chairs. Fairfax House Museum Director, Peter Brown, also revealed some surprising secrets hidden in the designs for the ceilings.
On his visit to the House, Paul Martin said: “I’m really excited to have discovered the cabinet with its superb floral marquetry. Also the outstanding Chippendale chairs, which on the surface look identical, but on closer inspection, we uncover some very subtle differences. "
Fairfax House opens its doors to the public for the start of the 2007 season on Monday 12 February.
