Fairfax House launches its new website today at www.fairfaxhouse.co.uk
The new-look website, designed by Eddy Lambert from Salvonet, will give visitors to the site the opportunity to take an on-line tour and view the magnificent 18th century Georgian rooms complete with furniture, silver, ceramics, glass and paintings. The tour details a selection of the Fairfax House collection and offers a fascinating insight into Georgian life.
Look out for the ‘Treasure of the Month’ slot on the welcome page where each month one item in the House is showcased in detail.
The website also contains up-to-date diary information on all the events and activities taking place at Fairfax House and gives details about events organised by The Friends of Fairfax House and the York Civic Trust and provides downloadable application forms to join these organisations.
Fairfax House is available to hire for exclusive dining and small corporate events and information about hire facilities is included in the Hospitality section of the site.
Many of the publications sold in the Fairfax House are listed on the site an each has its own synopsis and prices listed.
Peter Brown, Director at Fairfax House, is delighted with the new website. “The website gives a real insight into Fairfax House and allows visitors to see a selection of magnificent pictures, showing the rooms and some of the items in the collection, which will hopefully give the visitor a flavour of the Fairfax House experience.
“The website allows us to provide up-to-date information about events and activities happening at Fairfax House and to communicate with people interested in Georgian living all over the world.”
Fairfax House is open to the public from mid February until the end of December. The website includes opening times, directions and maps and information about private tours which can be booked in advance.
