A special symposium of lectures, demonstrations and a private view of Fairfax House, to explore how the products of the garden have been used over the centuries to decorate our homes.
This is day long event will provide a historical context to flowers arranging in the home. The speakers will include an illustrated talk by Mary Rose Blacker author of Flora Domestica - A History of British Flower Arranging 1500 – 193l and Peter Brown, Director of Fairfax House and author of Derby Porcelain, the work of floral and botanical artists, 1790-1805. George Smith will create a flower arrangement and there will be an opportunity for a private viewing of the Flower Festival in Fairfax House.
The symposium ticket includes a buffet lunch.
