Open Doors this Weekend

Don’t miss the chance to take a behind the scenes look at Fairfax House this Saturday and Sunday during York Residents’ Festival. We are offering FREE entry to York residents’ but we are open to all so please do come even if you are visiting the city for the weekend. Experience the special, one-off opportunity of using the townhouse’s original front door and gain a new perspective on what 18th century visitors to Fairfax House would have seen. You will also be able to take a look at the conservation cleaning work that goes on each January and to ask volunteers and staff about what they do to look after the special collection of furniture and clocks at Fairfax House.
