Fairfax House is delighted to announce that its recently acquired Grinling Gibbons’ King David Panel has been shortlisted by the Art Fund as one of its top 10 funded works in 2017.

This is wonderful recognition of the importance of this incredible artwork, as well as all the public support that went into saving this piece for York, Yorkshire and the Nation.

The Art Fund has helped museums and galleries around the UK acquire more than 80 works of art this year. To celebrate, they are now conducting a Christmas Poll to find the public’s favourite Art Fund Work of the Year 2017 which will be chosen from this shortlist of 10.

You can help Fairfax House in having a chance at winning this poll by casting a vote for your favourite artwork – which we trust you will agree is the King David Panel!

The poll will run from 28 November to 11 December and all those who participate will be entered into a prize draw to win a lifetime National Art Pass. The poll is open to everyone (not just art fund members) so it would be great if you could help us by casting your vote for this amazing work via https://www.artfund.org/workof2017.

You will also be entered into a prize draw to win a lifetime National Art Pass worth £1,850.
