Exploring Lord Fairfax's Cellar

Two staples of an 18th century feast were wine and cheese and records show both were enjoyed in copious quantities at that time. Over the centuries the combination of the two has provided one of the most successful food and wine pairings.

Richard Goodacre, international wine judge and expert, will present a talk outlining the type of offering you may have expected if you were a guest at Fairfax House in the 18th and early 19th century. Taking this forward to the present day he will present 6 wines and a selection of cheeses to be tasted and look at how modern wines and cheeses can be successfully matched.
