Wine and cheese – a gentleman’s relish
Fairfax House’s archives show there was a particular love of cheese in the 18th Century. It was often consumed with a glass or two of good wine. This talk will look at what wines were offered and what cheese eaten. Taking this forward into a modern context the talk will also look at modern wines and cheeses and which are the best to be paired with which. Six wines will be tasted together with a range of artisan English cheeses with an emphasis on achieving the best wine and cheese match.
