Fairfax House is mounting a campaign to raise £14,500 to purchase the portrait of Elizabeth, Viscountess Dunbar, by Sir Godfrey Kneller.

Elizabeth was the first wife of Charles Gregory Fairfax, 9th Viscount of Emley, purchaser of Fairfax House. The existence of the portrait has been known about for many years but its location was lost. It is now currently in danger of being sold into a private collection and internationally exported.
